I would highly caution anyone who is seeking services from Carl or this firm. After they made a mess of my husbands business and personal taxes for 3 years, Carl has completely ghosted us. We ended up having to pay thousands of dollars in penalties due to incomplete and untimely state and federal filings. I have print outs from Carl showing all the filings his firm was “submitting” on my husband’s behalf that were never actually filed to the IRS. His firm also filed business taxes under the wrong EIN for multiple years.
After painstakingly trying to get a meeting with Carl to discuss what we found and try to understand how this could happen, Carl started by saying he is not admitting liability incase he is being recorded. Reassuring. Then he let us know we were being unreasonable in our request for a refund of what he was paid to provide services that he clearly had not provided. He said he would have to get his insurance company involved and that would take “a very long time”. We let him know we would like to start that process and he asked for a week to look into the situation and he would get back with us. Have not heard from him. That was in April. We have made multiple attempts to schedule a follow up meeting which have gone unanswered.
Carl if you are reading this we are still waiting for your call. Also please don’t try the “your new accountant is telling you lies to make you pay them more” line. Writing is on the wall. The returns you sent saying they were filed are not on the IRS transcript. You filed it all under his personal taxes as a sole proprietor. Which technically works but let’s be honest you missed the window for S Corp filing and then instead of owning it you proceeded to present documentation that you were filing it as an S Corp but in fact were not. Dishonest to say the least. Also you used the wrong EIN. Thus causing further confusion. I sincerely hope you fix whatever was going on in your practice that caused these failures to your clients. It’s a simple concept. People pay you. You provide the service you say you are providing and communicate in a timely manor. It’s disrespectful to simply not respond.

We hired Carl and paid him monthly for 3 years. We started getting strange notices, but we assured everything was okay. Eventually, I wised up and hired another CPA. We were told he messed up multiple of our accounts for 3 years and the IRS were missing major account fillings from his firm. On top of this he missed Texas work force fillings for a year and half. With the new knowledge from our new CPA we had a meeting, and he said that is not right let me look into it... He has completely ghosted since saying that. Do not trust your small business with Carl and his firm
