This company is the worst. Outages happen constantly. Outage just happened today. Sunday at around 5pm. When it goes out the power just keeps turning on and off. They have already messed up one of my refrigerators cause they suck at their jobs. No number to report outages during off work hours. Get insurance on all your electrical items cause this company will kill them all with the power constantly turning on and off within seconds apart. “0” Stars.

Carroll county electric will cut you off over 35$. The most unfriendly people I ever dealt with. Very uncaring only care about rules not people. Used to cut trees under power lines now I have too.

Unfriendly, rude, and they could care less about your situation or whether you have power or not. Whether you have children or not or anything they care about is collecting that damn money.

First off, connecting service is a nightmare. The website program used is terrible, user unfriendly, and confusing. When asked if you can submit a paper application, customer service directs you bak to the unyielding website. As a long time customer of Carroll County Electric with accounts, one would think it would be no issue to connect another account. I thought, "I will just call them up!" When I called, I expected hometown friendly service. Unfortunately, I was told again to go back to the online application to pay the deposit. Can I pay over the phone? Impossible. Brandy, the agent I spoke to, informed me that essentially, the phone call was a waste of both of our time and there is no way she can see the status or even help get this Luddite application through the queue. I am not sure who sold you on the website Carroll County and its application progress, but I certainly give it one star. If I had another option, I would gladly utilize it. I can see why some people in Carroll County operate "off the grid", because it is very difficult to hook up service and it may be the easier option.

Several things. First, the website. The website is a replicated website of poor programming. It is used in Kentucky also. I should stress, Mayfield, Ky. No doubt other areas too. It functions the same way in Kentucky as it is in Tennessee. It's one website, replicated to the user portal. The initial homepage and info will be a little different. The portal is the same. Second, the smart meters. The smart meters are not smart. It will eventually be reality news when the electric companies finally admit it. I have noticed in Ky and in Tn, the meters tend to adjust according to the outside temperature, not the inside. Not in regularity but it does happen. In other words, if it is 90 degrees outside your daily usage states $5, but you did not use any more electricity than you did when the temperature was 60 degrees. There's a flaw in the smart meter relay, somehow, somewhere. Thirdly, I know this for a fact because in Kentucky, the usage showed daily amounts when in reality, the electric was NON-Existent during several month time frame. I contacted them and altho I was not charged, they never could give me an explanation for it. No electric. No meter. But it showed daily usage.
