I had Ells Electric upgrade the service and relocate the panel in my house in May 2021. When I had the estimate done, I also asked them to install another circuit to my second floor to run an AC unit and/or space heater, but the team that actually came to do the work were completely unaware of that part of the job, and it wasn't completed. That was kind of the theme of my whole experience... communication is not a priority for this company. Every time they said they would do something, I had to specifically follow up to make sure it actually got done... things like "We'll send you the quote in a few days," "We'll call you to schedule the job," "We'll do all 3 things we provided an estimate on." These were not things that I expected to have to put extra effort into, but I did - on all counts. I also only learned that a service panel upgrade is a two-part process when the team that did the work was leaving, and I asked why my meter was held to the house with duct tape. It was like that for 3 months, so I contacted Eversource to ask them what the hang-up is on finishing the job, and it turns out Ells never notified them the panel upgrade portion was done. I don't know why I waited 3 months to check on their communication, given how the rest of the project went... so that's on me.

I will say that the overall quality of the work they did was reasonable, and the price was fair. The people I interacted with were pleasant. Still, I wouldn't recommend Ells Electric, because throughout the process I felt I was not an important customer, even though this was probably the largest investment I will ever put into the wiring of my home. If I'm spending a few thousand dollars, I would just like to feel that my business matters enough for them to make a phone call or send an email so the job can move forward... and on at least 3 occasions, it didn't matter that much.

TLDR: if you need someone to install a new outlet, they're probably a good bet. For larger projects, go elsewhere unless you want to be the project manager yourself.

I had a great experience with Ells Electric. We were in a time crunch to pull permits and finish construction. They came on time, did the job, arranged for the inspections always with the smile (as far as I could tell, as they were wearing masks). Everything went smoothly. I recommend them to everybody who needs to work with a company that tells you what they will deliver and they do that in time.
