My boyfriend and I used to vacation together at his families cabin in Sandwich New Hampshire. We used to escape the city and come to his cute family cabin in the middle of the woods. We had privacy. It was quiet. It was secluded. One day in the summer of 2022, New Hampshire Electric Coop came onto the property without our knowledge and cut down nearly one hundred trees that surrounded the property - including a sentimental tree that my boyfriends grandfather planted in honor of his late wife. We have been in communication with Hew Hampshire Electric Coop for months now, trying to understand why this happened. We can’t afford to replant the trees. We have no privacy now. Our cabin in the woods escape is now open to anyone who drives by. There is no privacy, and a family tree was cut down without our knowledge or permission. The photos attached are a before and after of the same shot looking out of the cabin. We have a clear direct view of the neighboring trailer. We are unsure how to proceed, but if you’re considering using New Hampshire Electric Coop, just beware they are insensitive, cruel, uncommunicative, and difficult.

I know you state everyone is working as hard as they can, but days without power? Come on!
Its not just this past storm. This area loses power way too often. Its a very unreliable network. You really need to replace aged transmission lines and start burying them. Placing your lines amongst old trees is nuts! My fear is that people are going to die from carbon monoxide as they get more desperate to find a way to heat their homes. This whole response needs to be reviewed by the State and an impartial third party. We learn from our mistakes.
Edit 8/5: why does Alton lose power like every week. A squirrel farts in the woods and BAM-no power. Pathetic.

So impressed with the efficiency, professionalism, and responsiveness of NH Co-op. They are always extremely helpful when contacted and get the power back exceptionally fast. They have an automated system that will tell you when to expect your power to return and with the storm over the weekend the power returned before their estimated time! With NH's unpredictable weather and cold winters it's so valuable to have an electric company that can be trusted to get the heat back quickly. I highly recommend them!

I want to take the time to thank NHEC for getting my electricity back so fast on the outage on my road 02/14/24. I’m sure they would rather have spent Valentine’s Day with their loved ones than to be out clearing branches. From the time that I called to the time that it was restored was just about an hour, I was so happy! Also, customer service was awesome! Karen was sympathetic and helped me with the paperwork regarding my medical condition. Thank you Karen for understanding and helping me through it. You made that call Much easier for me!

Thank you to all the workers near and far who worked diligently and tirelessly to get our power back on in Chester. It can be hard sometimes to understand why the power supply can't just magically be fixed and turned back on, especially when it's winter weather. I very much appreciated the updates and insight provided by NHEC via social media. Living in the Northeast can be brutal sometimes, that is why we must be prepared. So thankful to have a generator and kind neighbors during these trying times. Especially thankful to those who took time out of their lives to help turn the lights back on for us all .

Worst entity masquerading as a "Utility". Rude customer service Rep who don't listen and then intentionally disconnect. Slowest response time to repair anything, downed line, tree, etc. If I had a choice I'd dump them in a heartbeat. And my neighbors all agree.

Thank you to the 4 NHEC workers who worked so hard and so quickly to remove fallen trees and large branches leaning on electrical wires at our cottage in Alton Shores on Friday, July 21. They arrived within 2 hours after I reported the problem. We are so grateful to them and to NHEC. We have been customers for over 20 years and have always been very happy with the company's service.
