Moved to Pahrump a few months ago, and have had the pleasure of dealing with Valley Electric, we have solar and are about to switch to the Fiber Optic they have been working nonstop to provide to our entire community, but in the meantime, I have zero complaints of my internet service they provide! Totally reliable. The staff up front are a delight to deal with, always helpful, patient and kind.

Moved to Pahrump and transferred the service into our name. Requested internet service and were told Broadband was the only option, that once Fiber Optic was complete we would be switched over. Then we would be contacted for installation. That never happened. We went back on a Monday and the customer service representative said you are scheduled for Wednesday just two days later. NO CALL NO SHOW. We went back and were told Friday. Thursday afternoon a representative from Valley Electric called to cancel. She stated we would not have service until they could complete installation of Fiber. Almost a month later and still no service. If I could give zero stars I would. Thanks so much for acknowledging and working to make it right.

UPDATE
Yesterday two young men JORDAN and Devin (Trainee) arrived at my house polite and on time. Great job, installing Fiber service. They again apologized for delay. I'm up and running. We thank you.

It's a sad shame that VEA has this town monopolized. Most of the reps speak to you like they are doing you a huge favor! They make it known in whatever the issue is, you only have a certain date and ZERO grace period. No everyone gets paid in time for their due dates. You are even 1 day late, late fees and more deposits. Then they speak to you like are below them. Leaving a message is useless. No one calls back. I wish someone would put them in their place. They think they are above and beyond everyone else. ?. Karma will catch up to them someday.

Customer service at Valley Electric is an area where the company falls short. Numerous accounts from residents reveal long wait times on the phone and unhelpful responses from representatives. It is not uncommon for customers to feel that their concerns are not taken seriously. This lack of support can be incredibly frustrating for individuals who are simply seeking assistance or information regarding their service.
Billing practices also raise concerns among customers. MANY others have reported receiving inaccurate bills, which can lead to confusion and mistrust. Such discrepancies can create financial strain, especially for those on tight budgets. When we reach out to resolve these issues, they often encounter bureaucratic hurdles that only add to their frustration.
Transparency is a critical factor in any utility service, and Valley Electric has struggled in this area as well. Customers frequently express dissatisfaction with the lack of clear communication regarding rate changes, outages, and service improvements. This opacity fosters a sense of distrust, leaving us feeling disconnected from the company that provides their essential utility service.
Moreover, the company’s infrastructure appears to be outdated, leading to frequent maintenance issues. Residents have noted that old equipment contributes to the unreliability of the service, further aggravating the problem. As technology advances, it is concerning that Valley Electric has not kept pace, putting its customers at risk of more frequent and prolonged outages.
Valley Electric also lacks community engagement, which could help bridge the gap between the company and its the people. Many residents feel that the utility provider does not listen to their feedback or concerns. By failing to foster a relationship with the community, the company misses out on valuable insights that could improve its services.
The lack of proactive measures is particularly disheartening. For a company that provides such an essential service, one would expect it to invest in infrastructure and technology that would enhance reliability. Unfortunately, this has not been the case, leaving residents questioning the company's commitment to serving the community effectively.
In addition to these systemic issues, the overall morale of Valley Electric employees also raises concerns. Several current and former employees have spoken about a challenging work environment that hinders their ability to provide quality service. If employees are dissatisfied, it is unlikely that they will offer the level of service that customers expect and deserve.
In conclusion, Valley Electric's numerous shortcomings make it deserving of a one-star rating. From inconsistent service and poor customer support to questionable billing practices and a lack of community engagement, the issues are pervasive. Residents of Pahrump deserve better from their utility provider, and it is crucial for Valley Electric to take immediate action to address these concerns. Until significant improvements are made, many will continue to view the company as an inadequate service provider.
Valley Electric seems to excel in disappointing its customers, with frequent outages and slow response times that leave residents frustrated and powerless—literally. The high rates do little to justify the lackluster service, making it feel like they prioritize profit over people. It’s disheartening to see a company that could be a pillar of the community instead become a source of constant irritation

Alright so check this out right? We gotta talk about this place pahrump valley electric association, or as I like to call em, the biggest bunch of clowns this side of the desert has seen. These fools think they can just run things like they own the joint but lemme tell you they ain’t even close to gettin it right.
First off, you ever try callin them? It’s like they disappear into some underground bunker. Good luck gettin anyone on the phone. You sit there on hold for so long, you start thinkin' maybe you should’ve brought a tent and some snacks, cuz you ain’t gettin through anytime soon. And then when they finally pick up they act like you're the problem. Like "Oh you need help? What, you want power in your house or somethin? Nah we don’t do that here." Ridiculous.
And don't even get me started on the outages man. One little breeze, and boom—lights out. The whole town’s sitting there in the dark like it’s 1885, waitin on someone to light a candle. Meanwhile I’m lookin’ at my bill like "Yo, what am I payin for?" They charge you top dollar but can’t even keep the lights on when a tumbleweed rolls by. And they got the nerve to say it’s “maintenance.” Nah bro that’s called incompetence.
Oh and about those bills? Man don’t even mention the bills. One month it’s kinda high, next month it’s sky-high, and then the month after that? It’s like they straight up pulled a number outta a hat. What kinda racket they runnin over there? If I tried pullin a move like that, I'd be behind bars. But these jokers? They just keep it movin' like it’s business as usual.
And I don’t wanna hear nothin' 'bout "renewable energy" or "infrastructure" either. They couldn’t run a lemonade stand let alone upgrade anything. Always talkin bout improvements but ain’t nobody seen em. It’s all a smoke show keepin people in the dark LITERALLY while they rake in cash for who knows what.
Bottom line? pahrump valley electric association is trash and they’re gettin away with daylight robbery—well when the lights are actually on, that is. But hey what do I know? I’m just the guy stuck payin for a service that works about as well as a car with no engine. Maybe someday they’ll figure it out. Doubt it though.

WOW! OUTSTANDING SERVICE! The power pole caught on fire and 5 minutes after the firemen called, they were here and had to rewire everything. They got it done so fast! The food in the freezer and fridge did not spoil and although it was 105 outside, we didn't get too hot inside because they got it done so fast! Thank you so much to the 4 guys that came and conquered the task in the heat. ? Bravo ?

Internet was marginally acceptable for several years, but it's recently slowed down to a crawl. Can't reach anyone to even explain what's happening. Looking elsewhere, but the alternatives are bleak.

Si have a solar system and valley electric charges me $445 or more every month. Stating I used all that electricity but my first months in I was being charged $50-70 makes no sense! This company is not accurate on their billing. I called and explained what was going on. The girl who answers the phone says because I am on solar they cannot do anything. Literally $450+ $250 for my solar a total of $700!!!! That is nuts!!!! I am going to get to the bottom of this. One way or another.
