You people think you have it so bad. I was a Lineman in houston area for 36 years go there and see what kind of service you get. You'll still have rolling Outages and much higher prices. Be careful what you wish for. I have no problem with them. They are a smaller company. That's why prices are better They buy straight wholesale. So a lot is give-and-take.

I have been with Victoria electric co-op for 35 years. They can't even stamp, "paid" on my bill. I have asked multiple times for them to use the stamper that they have but they are too lazy to use their hands; maybe they are scared to get arthritis. They say that I have to request it each time I pay my bill. How is it they cannot remember to stamp it but they don't forget to grab the payment? Jesus help us or get here soon! I'm a loyal customer that always pays on the first week that my bill comes in the mail. You've got to do better VEC. Stamping, paid, Should be a requirement. It serves as a record for us customers to know that we paid our bill.

I don’t know where to start with VEC !
It’s windy power goes out
It’s raining power goes out
It’s hot power goes out
Most of the times the power flickers .
Y’all get the money use it and upgrade your network.
The other day we lost power at work I been on hold waiting for 45 minutes.
Price wise don’t tell me y’all most the times lower than others. And don’t use your automated replies on here please.
I can’t wait till i get out of this city and your coop nonsense.
This to me like Communism one company one provider one option.
I know for sure if y’all open to other providers you will end up with nothing just bad reputation.

My daughter gets help with the community action of Victoria. They deposited money into her light bill account, and VEC was still sending her a bill. March 9 th They deposited the money. Bill is not due until March 15th. She paid them for the march bill. And then they sent another bill for april, and she paid it. My point is when contacting yall, you said you couldn't put the money back on her card or refund it bk to her. She is on a fixed income and having to pay high rent, and she was short on her rent both months. That is scandalous. You all owe her like three hundred and something dollars. Yet you won't refund it bk. Community Action of Victoria helps her. All she owed yall was for membership fees of 28 ×2. You should have refunded the rest of her money by. I will be contacting the appropriate ppl for this matter.

Victoria Electric Coop is my only option for electricity and it feels to me that because they know that, their customer service and putting "members" right is lacking. I figure they will use their standard response to this comment which will be a variation of:

" We appreciate your feedback! Providing our Members safe, reliable and affordable electricity is our Mission. Because of this offering equitable rates is extremely important. To ensure this our Financial Services team runs market comparisons monthly. Typically our rate is less than or equal to other providers in areas we serve. In addition, unlike investor owned utilities revenue above the cost of doing business is paid back to our Members via capital credits. To date Victoria Electric Cooperative has paid out over $9million in capital credits. Lastly, we agree that our website is in need of a refresh which is why we are currently working on making modifications and upgrades to improve our Member’s online experience. We hope to unveil this site later next year. Thank you for your Membership! "

I would rather be out in a competitive market where I can choose who my electricity provider is instead of being forced into a "membership" that doesn't care about it's members.

I contacted VEC about a week ago about a neighbor's tree that has grown into the overhead transmission lines that is moving the lines around when the wind blows and poses a major threat of an area power out and even fire from a blown transformer. The issue still has not been addressed! Will it take a disaster to get your attention ?

Jake and John from VEC came to my home this morning. They cut branches off of my trees that were growing into the path of the power lines. They were very responsive and punctual. I was impressed with their quality of work.

There service is top notch, their linemen are the best, all around great company. All that said and I'll admit I have had some hard times as of late, but they never stopped treating like I was there neighbor.
