Mike put a home charger in for my EV and he did a great job. He patched the wall and matched the paint to make it look seamless.

I had a positive experience with West Coast Electric. Mike came to my house to assess my needs for a NEMA 14-50 outlet and gave me clear, honest advice at no charge. He explained that while he could install it, it wouldn’t be up to code and could lead to problems later, so he won’t do the installation. I appreciate his transparency and professionalism. Highly recommend!

My insurance company notified me that I had to replace my old electrical panel and I found West Coast Electric through a recommendation. I'm very happy with the quality work (as is my insurance company) and reasonable cost. Mike and Danny are truly nice and considerate people, and I wouldn't hesitate to hire West Coast Electric again.

2.5 stars because we're 50% satisfied. However, would not use them again.
Tldr; simple replacement of ceiling fan ended up with opening up the ceiling and we also felt we were overcharged.
I contacted Mike to replace a ceiling fan and replace 2 exterior lights. I went with a licensed electrician instead of a handyman because I wanted their specialized experience. However, Danny, his son, showed up to do the job. Danny was polite and friendly and has 4-5 years of experience.
No complaints on the replacement of the exterior lights. One of them was a little wobbly but once Danny tightened it a bit more, they both look great.
The concerns are mainly with the ceiling fan. We removed a ~50 pound fan and are replacing it with a 20 pound fan. Once removed, Danny noticed the metal box inside was for lighting fixtures and not fan rated. Since we're replacing it with a lighter fan, it didn't seem to be a big issue but the bracket was an inch too short anyway and Danny mentioned it was against code, so we agreed to replace the box from fixture to fan-rated.
I've previously hired professionals to install recessed lights and fans in ceilings where there was no fixture and the wires have to be pulled. They were always installed with the light/fan/fixture covering the hole, with no additional patching needed. I thought this would be a simpler job if replacing a fan with a fan.
I was surprised when there seemed to be a significant amount of patching needed to replace the existing fan with the new fan. The new hole is maybe 12" long and a jagged shape whereas the previous hole and box was about 6"x6" square. The resulting patch was painted but due to the texture different, quite obvious.
We were charged $345 (negotiated down to $300) to switch out the box only (no wires needed to be pulled), which we initially agreed to as we were stuck with no working fan. I realized a couple hours later that I previously had a recessed lighting company install ceiling fixture support boxes in another room for only $85 each a couple of months ago. I showed the invoice and asked if the price could be lowered as the 4x charge was quite steep but was told no and that we should've hired that other company (this is a good point). Knowing how much I paid last time from a reputable company vs the 400% markup, left me feeling that I had been taken advantage of, esp as a female.
Lastly the top of the fan is not flush with the ceiling but Danny mentioned that was an issue with the fan itself and not with the box.
All in all, everything was installed and works fine so far. However, while I appreciated their effort and work, I do think someone with more experience might have done a cleaner and more efficient job. Now I'm left with a sizeable patched area that needs to be textured and re-painted, as well as having paid more than 2.5x the quoted price due to the ceiling box issue (which I wonder if it could have been MaGyvered by a handyman). Overall for me the sticker shock / price was too high for the work I received, hence would not use them again.

Mike and his son was able to squeeze me in one of the hottest day of summer when I had issues with the electrical and outlets not working properly. Understandably he was very busy but Mike still picked up my calls and kept me updated his ETA which really alleviated a ton of stress on my end since it was an urgent matter.
Upon arrival, Mike was very professional and informative about what the issues were and how he resolved them. But more importantly, prices were fair. He goes through the diagnostic with you first with the quote, then you get to decide whether or not if you wanted to proceed. Overall, it was a smooth experience and I would definitely recommend Mike for any of your electrical works.

I initially called West Coast Electric to come and look at a shorted out electric socket in my bathroom. Mike, the owner-operator came out almost immediately since it was a little bit of time before his first appointment of the day. Am I ever glad he did! Mike fixed the problem, and he was so nice and knowledgeable about this small job that I knew I would want him to come and do a larger one. Mike is very honest, pleasant, professional and talks to you in people-terms. It was the most pleasant experience I have ever had having work done around the house. He is very punctual, communicates very well about the progress of the job and does neat, clean work that clearly he takes pride in. As he was working, I would hear him talking with the other guys he brought along for the job about what the code was so that way the job was done right. My electrical panels came out great, passed inspection from the city with flying colors, and I feel confident the work he did is quality work. I will most definitely call West Coast Electric again in the future when I have more work done.

I tried to restore power to 5 outlets that suddenly stopped working, after checking the breakers which were all on I started replacing the outlets that didn't work to no avail. Desperate to fix the problem myself I found myself climbing around in the attic in search of chewed up wires by a rodent or a loose connection or something but nothing. I finally called West Coast Electric and spoke with Mike, he said he could come over about 5:00pm . It was 4:00pm on Saturday when I called, he arrived on time, troubleshooting the problem, repaired a totally different outlet that had power, a loose wire was causing the others to stop working. I only wish I had called him first and saved myself a whole lot of grief. West Coast Electric is a business you can trust and have confidence that the job is done right. Mike thanks for your promptness, expertise and being friendly even though it was late in the day so close to quitting time.

Mike and Danny were very professional, responsive, and friendly. Communication and followed up was a breeze and they were always flexible about working around our schedule. Quality of work was superb - could not come more highly recommended. Thank you!
